What Roomly does

Roomly is a student housing marketplace with secure escrow payments, 24-hour refund protection, verified listings, and real reviews. It connects students looking for accommodation with caretakers managing verified properties, and cuts out the extortion and guesswork that usually come with off-platform housing searches.

Why Roomly exists

Students shouldn't have to navigate stress and extortion just to secure a place to stay. Off-platform, the process is often opaque: inspection fees with no guarantee of a match, outdated listings, hidden commissions, inconsistent pricing, and little way to verify a property or a landlord before paying.

Roomly's vision is a free, fair, and transparent housing marketplace for students — one with more accountability and less opacity. The goal is to reduce extortion and, over time, help regulate the student housing market in Nigeria, starting from FUTMINNA.

Where things stand

Building started in February 2026. Since then, the core flows have shipped and been tested end-to-end: booking, roommate matching, and withdrawals. Real-time chat and Roomly AI are next. See the product roadmap for what's planned ahead.
